Living the Adventure

Good day. My name is Susan Kelly Skitt and I believe walking by faith is one amazing adventure. At times life’s journey is dangerous and the way seems difficult, but when you know Jesus as your personal Savior, He promises to be with you every step of the way. I’ve experienced God’s grace and help in times of need. He wants to do the same for you. Jesus makes life worth living. So come on - Let’s live the adventure!

In Six Words...

Longing for home.

Eternity in view.

I learned about this Short Story Challenge MeMe through Greg at Greg's General Store. Anyone want to take a guess what my six words mean?

The journey might be treacherous, tree roots and snakes on the way, but nothing that our God is not aware of and in control of and using for our growth. As we take a step at a time and move on from one degree of glory to the next we will eventually reach our heavenly home. It's n ot the getting there but the journey that makes the difference.

I think of the verse : "Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" when I see the picture and read the words. Love the light peeking in on the path drawing you further into forest.
Susan: Thank you for praying with me for Mike and Diane. I am praying with you for KEndra! PRaise HIM!

Hi Susan,
I clicked here over the weekend and then went over to Greg's site and forgot to come back and post a comment...I would venture to guess as others before...Heaven...that place that Christ has gone before us to secure our reservations...oh that glorious day when the cares of this world will be soothed by the entrance to the fullness of His peace and joy...

Have a blessed day,

Helen

I long for home too.

Love this old S. Gospel song...

Going home
I'm going home
There's nothing to hold me here
I've caught a glimpse of that Heavenly land
Praise God
I'm going home

Sharon, yes, my friend, plain and simple :)

Barbara, I love your thoughts here friend. Yes, the way might be dangerous but my Jesus is with me all the way. He DOES have a purpose and specific plan for all of our lives. I like how you said "one degree of glory to the next." I know there's a Bible verse that talks about that, I'll have to look up the reference :) And our citizenship IS in Heaven!

Kim, I love your thoughts here. Jesus is our light! There is no shadow of turning with Him! And yes, it is a good thing to pray! Thank you.

Monsoon-dreams: Yes, God has put eternity in our hearts...the choice of where we will spend it is up to us. Jesus is the way to peace and a mansion in Heaven. (see John 14:1-3 and John 16:33)

Amrita, yes my Father and Savior and my friend!

Greg, hey there. Thank you and yes, a good weekend indeed. Did some much needed gardening on Saturday.

Angela, yep :) It is fun as a writer to think of just 6 words that explain who you are.

Dear Helen, yes, Jesus is making my mansion! (And I say that only because He did in John 14.) I have to say, the KJV has a much nicer translation there as far as homes! And it will be nice that the present cares of this world will disappear in the light of Jesus face... oh what a day!

Hey Angie, that's a good thing. I don't think I've heard that song. Thanks for sharing it here. After my first husband died, after the initial month of the onslaught of paperwork that needed to be completed, I collapsed with my mom, dad, and son, at my grandparents little cabin in the PA Dutch Country. There my dad taught me a Dutch song that translates like this: I want to go, I want to go, I want to go there too, I want to go where Jesus is, I want to go there too."

Praise God Jesus is with us all the way home!

Hi Ajsmom: Thank you for stopping by. I hope you visit again. Yes, Heaven and longing are two words that go together :) Thank you too for your lovely comments.
